The idea for Gerbino's started when Sahel Abdulmohsen Al-khodair decided to start his first family owned and run Italian restaurant, I decided o name it after my Mother's family name (A wonderful and great lady) whom come from a town near Mon Gerbino to the south east of Palermo, Sicily in (the old country) Italy. I started showing interest in cooking when i was at the very young age of 4, as my mother and late father tell me, our life abroad due to my father's work as a regional manager for the Saudi Arabian Airlines gave me many wonderful opportunities to experience what the culinary arts were like in the finest hotels around the world, where i spent most of my time in those hotels in there restaurants and kitchens just amazed by there size and the way they worked.
I envisioned the restaurant's idea around an authentic Italian wood fired brick oven as the main cooking style which I researched very thoroughly for about a year and finally built myself.
